Location
Otway Cottage is anewly built luxury cottage is located on an elevated site overlooking the nearby golf fairway and small sandy beach. The cottage has panoramic views over Lough Swilly towards the Inishowen peninsula. The view also encompasses a nearby Martello tower built in Napoleonic times on a rocky headland jutting into the lough. Otway Golf Club is reputedly the second oldest course in Ireland and as it is literally on your doorstep you can enjoy this challenging little course at any time of day. A short walk takes you to a lovely secluded little sandy beach which you will often have to yourself.
Rathmullan village is 4km south along the coast from Otway Cottage. A new car ferry service operates from the pier connecting Rathmullan with Buncrana on the eastern shores of Lough Swilly. Buncrana has an indoor leisure centre with swimming pool, a large outdoor kids play area and a large selection of shops pubs and restaurants.
